SUMMIT FERTILIZERS

A Quality Choice

Summit Fertilizers commenced in 1989 when a cargo of 5000 tonnes of DAP was brought into leased premises at Kwinana. By 2002, in the thirteenth year of operation, Summit had sold over 2.0 million tonnes of fertilizer in Western Australia, with annual sales of 370 000 tonnes from five strategically located depots at Kwinana, Geraldton, Bunbury, Albany and Esperance.

Summit have grown from their early days as an importer, to having a strong manufacturing base with a range of innovative products and services. Summit have led change in the industry, and this is demonstrated in the innovations that Summit have introduced to the WA market. Some of these include:

1992 - World class blending and    despatch facilities were introduced at the Kwinana site. These facilities, which are amongst the most sophisticated in the world, allow farmers to custom blend the precise balance of nutrients required for their enterprise. In 1998, these facilities were located at all of the Summit Fertilizer Depots.

1993 - Summit introduced a new soil testing service which includes the Phosphorous Retention Index (PRI) test. This test, developed by Agriculture WA, is recognised as the most accurate means to determine phosphorous requirements and is only available from Summit. In 1998, Summit purchased new soil testing and precision farming software, to further enhance the soil testing service to its customers.

1995 - Summit launched DAPSZC®, the first high analysis cropping fertilizer to contain sulphur and trace elements in every granule.  Developed specifically for the trace element deficient soils of WA, DAPSZC® has quickly become popular with West Australian growers and is now a leading cropping fertilizer in Western Australia.

1995 - Summit introduced new manufacturing technology to further enhance the product range available to Western Australian growers. These processes include sulphur coating, compaction and wax coating processes.

Patented sulphur coating technology has been the basis for a Pasture Range of fertilizers for beef, sheep and Dairy farmers. For the first time, West Australian graziers had an alternative to traditional superphosphate fertilizers.

Compaction technology has enabled the production of Amsul, a fully granulated Sulphate of Ammonia, as well as a range of specialised fertilizers for the horticultural industry.

1997 - Summit became the first company to offer a fertilizer coating service by coating fertilizer with the  fungicide IMPACT®. This provides significant benefits to growers, and Summit achieves 100% coating of all fertilizer granules. This service is now available from all depots.

1998 - Summit launch VIGOUR®, the result of two years research and development. VIGOUR® is the first cropping fertilizer in Western Australia to include all major nutrients including Potassium in every granule. Trials have shown that Potassium is now a yield limiting nutrient in many cropping situations, and VIGOUR® has been developed to maximise yields in these situations.

1999 - Summit launch a new Plant Testing Service which offers complete macro and trace element analysis.

1999 - MAPSZC® is successfully launched. MAPSZC® is the first MAP based fertilizer to contain sulphur and trace elements in every granule and provide growers with excellent handling characteristics in all seeding conditions.

2000 - Summit launch No Till & No Till Manganese fertilizers to satisfy the high nutrient requirements of minimum tillage seeding.

2001 - A granular, crystalline ammonium sulphate - MAXam - was introduced to provide high sulphur seeding fertilizers.

2002 -Summit launch AllStar a perfectly nutrient balanced fertilizer.

2002 - MAXamFLO is introduced as Western Australia's first liquid fertilizer containing nitrogen and sulphur.

2003 - An addition to the liquid fertilizers range, VigourFLO, is the first N:P:K broadacre liquid fertilizer in W.A.

2004 - MAPSZFLO was added to the range - liquid NP with Zinc.

2004 - ZincStar, with high levels of zinc was introduced to cater for those soils where zinc levels need to be lifted, such as high pH levels.

2005 - After extensive in 2005, Summit UAN was introduced to the market. UAN is used around the world for seeding or foliar application on ereals and canola.

Summit boasts a very efficient workforce.

With an innovative "can do" culture, a unique range of branded fertilizers, patented manufacturing processes, established relationships with international suppliers, five conveniently located depots at Kwinana, Bunbury, Albany, Esperance and Geraldton, the strength of our distribution network with a large number of trained agents and agronomists, Summit Fertilizers is well placed to provide farmers with their fertilizer requirements both now and in the future.
